FAQ’s
How do I post a job or internship with the Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse?
Either log-in or create your account by clicking here. You may request access to post to the RACC when you self register. Or you may email us your job descriptions and we will post them for you and set up your account.
Is there a charge for services provided by the Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse?
No, all services provided by the Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse are free, including posting on WIRE- Work & Intern in Rockford E-recruiting. We received seed funding from the Rockford Area Economic Development Council’s Leadership Council Emerging Opportunities Fund.
I posted my job or internship, now what?
You may log-in to your account and search resumes. If someone applies to your position, the resume will be emailed to you. You may then contact the applicant to set up an interview or to decline. The interviewing and hiring process is up to you. Make sure you let us know who you hire so that the Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse may track its success.
Why is it important to post my jobs and internships with the Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse?
The Rockford Area is working to increase the percentage of Bachelor degreed individuals in the Rockford Area. By posting your jobs and internships with us, we will be the clearinghouse for all opportunities available to students and recent graduates looking to work in the Rockford Area. The more opportunities we have available to promote, the more likely these individuals will stay or return to the region. Also, most colleges and universities career service centers out of the region work with local employers and big corporations. So when a resident leaves the region for college and wants to return we can help provide them with opportunities in their hometown.
We require applicants to fill out an application on our website. Can we still post on WIRE?
Yes, you may set it up where they apply through the WIRE site, and then be automatically directed to your website to fill out your required application. This allows us to track who applies and you get the required information you need.
Who will be able to apply to my jobs and internships?
We market the website to local colleges, but also individuals who left the Rockford Area for college and encourage them to return each summer for an internship and after graduation for a career.
I posted my job or internship and no one has applied. What can I do?
Some jobs receive multiple applications and some very few or none. Unpaid internships typically receive fewer applications or internships during the spring and fall semesters since there are fewer college students in the area during that time of the year. You may contact us and we will help to search more candidates for your positions. We can also visit your company to get a better understanding of your company and the positions you have available to assist us in promoting your opportunities.
I see you use Experience software and I already have another account with another college. How do I access WIRE?
You may use your same log-in information that you use with other colleges and universities. On the home page select “request link from school” and choose Rockford Area Career Clearinghouse. Once approved, you will be able to post professional jobs and internships for your Rockford Area location(s) for no charge.
I do not see any jobs or internships in my field. What can I do?
We are constantly working to add more opportunities to the website. Please check back often. You may also email the RACC and explain what you are looking for and we will do our best to assist you.
